Stop running from the Lord. No matter how hard you try, you will not get far. His call is like going to the beach and finding a fish near the shore. It is so close, yet so far and you sense that it is in trouble and beckoning you to help. You know there is a quiet internal scream, begging you to return it to its natural place. You understand that if it does not get put back immediately, death is not only certain but before that… agony, confusion and helplessness until the end. You know that it is just a matter of time.
We call that a fish out of water… I prefer to say, it is a fish that has become acquainted with a rapidly diminishing quality of life and the possibility of death becoming less than unbearable. And just in case you were unsure, I am speaking about us. We cannot run from God’s Call. Trust me, I have tried. For many years, I kept finding creative ways to stay frustrated in my walk with the Lord. It wasn’t intentional but the amount of excuses I had for why I could not do what God had told me to do was impressive. And the worst part, He didn’t just tell me… He showed me. I received His vision in my dreams, His instructions in His Word and His promise in my prayers. Even with prophetic confirmation, I convinced myself that I still had to wait. The only burden I had was to believe and step out in faith.
God does this for His saints, He makes a way where there is none. But we choose instead to listen to the list, because there is alway a list. We Google and we research. Then we spend time, lots of time, analyzing and justifying this list because it validates our fear. I don’t know about your list but mine includes a six figure marketing budget and the perfect timing… because how else, right?!
Running from God is logical, but running with God defies logic and yet it is our most natural place.
“I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free.”
-Psalm 119:32
We were created to be with Him in all that we do.
In the spirit, with the most high, we can do all things.
Things that God will reveal to you.
Things that look bigger than your capacity.
Those things must come out of you.
Things that are bigger than you could’ve dreamed for yourself.
Things that defy logic.
Things that you are unqualified for.
Those are the things that you must accept.
And you must run, faster than you feet can go,
Because you won’t meet your destiny until you do.
“When you walk, your step will not be hampered; and if you run, you will not stumble.”
– Proverbs 4:12
There are people that God will send to assist you.
There are things working in your favor that you can’t see.
Things that are not about you.
Trust Him.
For peace in your mind.
For strength in your fatigue.
There is a plan for you where you don’t have one.
There is a loan in heaven that you don’t need to qualify for.
You have everything that you need.
He is with you.
“He gives power to those who are tired and worn out; he offers strength to the weak. Even youths will become exhausted, and young men will fall give up.
But those who wait on the Lord will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”
-Isaiah 40:29-31
Reject everything that they told you you needed.
He is higher than your self-esteem.
Higher than your education.
Higher than your standards.
Higher than your bank account.
Higher than your confusion.
Ask Him to show you.
“Let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.”
-Hebrews 12:1
What is it that He needs to come out of you?
What did He tell you to do?
He is faithful.
Tell Him.
Tell Him that you accept.
Believe He will do what He says.
Declare that you are running with Him.
Running faster than your feet could ever go.
